The California DMV was facing the challenge of verifying real documents in a cost-effective and timely manner. The California DMV counted with an existing solution to help customers provide documentation to meet REAL ID requirements. However, this was costly and was not easy to control and expand upon.
The solution? OSaaS’ REAL ID Document Verification.
The REAL ID Document Verification Solution
Created and implemented by OSaaS, the REAL ID Document Verification solution was incorporated into the DMV’s existing ID and Driving License application process to ensure the validity of documents required for the REAL ID applications.
The Real ID Document Verification includes a public facing web application that helps customers identify and upload documents that meet REAL ID criteria. Documents are then submitted for review and feedback will be provided. An internal document recognition and data extraction AI and manual review application (ABBYY) is used to initially review the documents. Anything that can’t be verified is then passed to DMV employees for human review to ensure their validity or provide the necessary feedback.
Once all documents have been reviewed successfully, users can submit their application and a confirmation email will be sent to complete their application process at a DMV office.
